If the Dallas Cowboys are looking to bolster their offense ahead of the Nov. 5 trade deadline, they should have their eyes on Denver Broncos star wide receiver Courtland Sutton.
The Broncos commenced a rebuild this offseason by moving on from quarterback Russell Wilson (released), wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (traded to the Cleveland Browns) and All-Pro safety Justin Simmons (released). If GM George Paton wants to continue getting younger and acquire more assets for the rebuild, Courtland Sutton is easily his No. 1 trade asset.
Sutton agreed to a restructured contract with the Broncos this offseason, slowing down trade speculation for the summer. But he’ll be 29 next month and is only under contract through 2025, so the Broncos might be open to moving him by Nov. 5 if the right offer comes along.
Perhaps no team makes more sense for Courtland Sutton than the Dallas Cowboys, who are still searching for a true No. 2 receiver to complement CeeDee Lamb. With all due respect to Brandin Cooks, he’s best suited as a No. 3 WR at this phase of his career.
Sean Payton was not happy after this play on the sidelines
Bo Nix rips it to Courtland Sutton and would have moved the chains on a crucial 3rd & 6

The Cowboys are in win-now mode after signing Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott to long-term extensions. Courtland Sutton is a consistent 1,000-yard threat, having posted over 700 yards in each of his five healthy seasons (he missed all but one game in 2020) despite lacking an elite quarterback.
Adding Sutton to an explosive group with Lamb, Cooks, tight end Jake Ferguson and running back Ezekiel Elliott could elevate this Dallas offense to another level we haven’t seen under Prescott.
What Cowboys Should Offer Broncos For Courtland Sutton
The Broncos should eye one of Dallas’ young receivers to help quarterback Bo Nix, and Paton will definitely want at least one early-round selection.
A 2025 third-round draft pick and 25-year-old wide receiver Jalen Tolbert (a 2022 third-round draft selection) for Sutton would be a fair price. Broncos head coach Sean Payton could unlock Tolbert’s potential, and a third-round pick allows Denver to add another young foundational player to help their rebuild.
