Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane admitted that he went big-game hunting for one of the league’s premier players before completing a trade for Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper.
On Tuesday, Brandon Beane acquired Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick from the Browns in exchange for 2025 third and 2026 seventh-round picks. The five-time Pro Bowler is in the final year of his contract.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Beane revealed that he previously inquired about the availability of Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro wideout Davante Adams before the latter was traded to the New York Jets, per Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News.
Brandon Beane said Buffalo “monitored” Adams’ status with the Raiders on Monday. Less than 24 hours after the Bills defeated the Jets on Monday night, the AFC East rivals each landed themselves a new star wide receiver.
