There’s a rumor floating around about the Cleveland Browns making a push to complete a blockbuster trade for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.
The Browns have the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, so they have the option to take one of the top quarterback prospects in Miami’s Cam Ward or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders if GM Andrew Berry so desires.
But could a trade for a former first-overall pick be in the works? According to Michael Villani (better known as Mikey “Beardown Cuz” on social media) of The Brilliantly Dumb Show, the Browns are discussing a Kyler Murray trade with the Cardinals.
In a follow-up post, Villani said he wouldn’t post a “scoop” on X/Twitter again if Murray doesn’t get traded and if his story isn’t backed up later on. In other words, he fully trusts his source and is confident that the Murray trade talks are real.
The Cardinals haven’t at all indicated that they’re open to trading Kyler Murray, and the No. 1 pick of 2019 hasn’t expressed a desire to leave. So interpret this buzz on social media however you wish.
Not The Time For Cardinals To Trade Kyler Murray

In his first healthy season in four years, Murray had a stellar bounce-back campaign by throwing for 3,851 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions to go along with 572 rushing yards and five rushing scores.
Arizona has built a nice set of weapons around Murray, led by Trey McBride, James Conner and Marvin Harrison Jr. Murray still hasn’t fully put it together from start to finish over the duration of an entire season, but he hasn’t worked with an offense this talented before.
Thus, Arizona is better off keeping Murray and trying to build around him.
