BREAKING: Donald Trump Set To Sign Executive Order Banning Transgenders From Participating In Women’s Sports

United States President Donald Trump is set to sign an executive order on Wednesday that will prevent individuals who were male at birth from participating in women’s/girls’ sporting events.

On his first day in office in January, Trump issued a sweeping order calling for the federal government to recognize two genders—male and female—and for the same to be reflected on official documents such as passports.

According to ESPN, Wednesday’s order will cover the way the Trump Administration interprets Title IX, the law overseeing gender equity in sports and preventing sexual harassment on campuses.

“This executive order restores fairness, upholds Title IX’s original intent, and defends the rights of female athletes who have worked their whole lives to compete at the highest levels,” U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace said.

Donald Trump is Keeping His Promise

The returning president’s pledge to “keep men out of women’s sports” gained him plenty of support during the recent elections. More than 50 percent of the voters surveyed by AP VoteCast were of the view that transgender rights had gone too far, both in government and society in general.

Every administration has the authority to issue its own interpretations of Title IX. During Trump’s first term, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos issued a policy that clearly defined sexual harassment and ordered colleges to investigate claims only if they weren’t through particular channels.
