Family Of LSU Tigers QB Colin Hurley Release Important Health Update After He Was Found Unresponsive Following Car Crash

LSU Tigers backup quarterback Colin Hurley was hospitalized following a car smashed into an oak tree near campus early Thursday morning.

Hurley, a freshman from Jacksonville, Florida, was shockingly found unresponsive behind the wheel but breathing by the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

The 17-year-old freshman had to be removed by emergency responders from the wreckage and transported to a nearby hospital.

According to a crash report obtained by WBRZ, he had a large cut on his face as he continued to go in and out of consciousness. The crash report released no cause of the accident but stated impairment was not suspected.

There was no immediate word on his condition since Colin Hurley is still a minor.LSU officials deferred comment to the 17-year-old Hurley’s family, who has since released a statement.


“Colin would like to thank the first responders, the incredible doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Health, and the many Tiger Fans for their care and compassion,” the family’s statement read in part.

The second part updated his health status.

“Colin is resting and is stable while more tests and care are being administered. We are confident that Colin will make a full recovery from this terrible accident.”

Hurley was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2024 out of Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Fla. He did not appear in a game for LSU in 2024.
