The ceremony, which has highlighted achievements in film and television since 1944, will usher in the start of the months-long award season when it airs Sunday, Jan. 5.
Some of the biggest actors, shows and movies of the past year are hoping to walk away with a golden statue, or two, at the 82nd Annual Golden Globes in categories like best motion picture (for drama or musical/comedy) best original song, best television series (for drama or musical/comedy) and the recently added cinematic box office achievement.
Last month, Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut announced the nominees, with stars like Denzel Washington, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Donald Glover and Kathy Bates landing nominations. On the film side, “Emilia Pérez” led with 10 nominations. For television, “The Bear” scored the most nods with five. (See the full list of nominations here.)
To present the awards, Oprah Winfrey, Andrew Garfield, Jennifer Coolidge, Kerry Washington, Elton John and more stars will be on hand.

The 2025 Golden Globes coverage begins with a red carpet pre-show that will capture all the nominees and presenters arriving dressed to the nines.
The live digital show will be hosted by Entertainment Tonight and Variety and begins at 3:30 p.m. PT / 6:30 p.m. ET. It will stream on Variety, ET and Penske Media platforms.
What channel are the 2025 Golden Globes on?
The ceremony airs on CBS this year. The network signed a five-year deal to broadcast the Golden Globes in 2024.

Comedian Nikki Glaser is set to make history at the 82nd Annual Golden Globes as the first woman to host the ceremony solo.
Leading up to her big night, Glaser said in a press release, “Hosting the Golden Globes is scary! It’s a well-lit room, which is not conducive to comedy; there are a lot of people I admire, which also is not conducive to comedy. It’s live, so you can’t do retakes.”
She added, “The level of difficulty is through the roof. And that’s thrilling to me.”
Glaser is also nominated in the category for best performance in a stand-up comedy on television for her HBO special “Someday You’ll Die.”
