Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels continued his dynamic rookie season by surpassing Robert Griffin III for the most rushing yards by a rookie quarterback in NFL history during the team’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Many older players are not happy when someone from another generation takes down their coveted records, but RG3 was not one of those people.
In 2012, Griffin set the previous mark with 815 rushing yards during his NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign when he played for Washington. Daniels took down his record in the fourth quarter against Atlanta.
No one was more excited for the rookie than RGIII himself, who took to Twitter to praise Daniels.
“I wanted Jayden Daniels to break my rookie rushing record because I’m not about rooting against the next generation. He EARNED IT. He is the FUTURE. Some of these old heads need to stop drinking all that haterade and lift up these young guys instead of tearing them down,” he wrote.
