The Chicago Bears have made a drastic decision on the future of Matt Eberflus.
The head coach has been under fire since failing to take a timeout near the end of Thursday’s loss to the Detroit Lions. But he will not have an opportunity to fix things as the team has opted to part ways with him.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter has just reported that the Bears are firing Eberflus, making it the first time they’ve ever gotten rid of a head coach in the middle of the season.
“Black Friday: For the first time in the 100-plus year history of the franchise, the Chicago Bears have made an in-season head-coaching change, firing Matt Eberflus,” Schefter tweeted on Friday afternoon.
