The Detroit Lions beat the Dallas Cowboys in incredibly convincing fashion on Sunday.
It was never a contest.
The Cowboys and the Lions made history with this game, but only one team would be happy about it.
The final score of the Detroit Lions’ romp over the Dallas Cowboys was unique in NFL history. The 47-9 finish was the first time an NFL game had ended with that score.
We got a scorigami.
It was almost not meant to be as quarterback Cooper Rush drove down to Detroit’s five-yard line in the fourth quarter, but they didn’t score any points because Rush ended up throwing an interception.
The Dallas Cowboys were just lousy in all areas against the Lions, and the bye this week is the only positive aspect of it.
Congratulations to the Cowboys and Lions.
The Cowboys got their points on three field goals from Brandon Aubrey, while the Lions scored five touchdowns and four field goals.
There have only been three scorigamis this season, and the Cowboys have now been involved in two of them. Their first one was in Week Two when they got blown out in a home game to the Saints, 47-19.
The Dallas Cowboys Have A Tough Road Ahead After Their Bye Week
If the Dallas Cowboys want to improve after the bye week, it won’t come easy.
In Week 8, the team gets back in action as they face off against San Francisco on the road.
Then, the team will head to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to face the Atlanta Falcons.
Next up for the Dallas Cowboys will be a home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The following week is another home game against the Houston Texans. It only gets worse with Washington after that.
The Cowboys do not catch a break until they face the New York Giants in Week 13.
