A Pittsburgh Steelers fan had a field day poking fun at Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins, in front of the man’s own family, during the quarterback’s sluggish debut on Sunday afternoon.
The 36-year-old Kirk Cousins signed a four-year, $180 million deal with the Falcons in free agency, making the struggling franchise the consensus pick to win the NFC South this season.
But Cousins’ debut left a lot to be desired for the Falcons, as he completed only 16 of 26 pass attempts for 155 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in an 18-10 loss. Cousins was also sacked twice in his Atlanta debut.
Steelers fan Matt Light posted a video on social media of himself laughing at Kirk Cousins’ family during the game, with the caption, “Kirk Cousins family couldn’t stand me.” The family ignored Light as he celebrated the Steelers’ monumental road win:

Rust is common for NFL players in Week 1, so it’s a little soon for Atlanta fans to panic.
When he’s on his game, Kirk Cousins is a borderline top-15 quarterback in football. At the very least, he promises to be an upgrade over any QB the Falcons have used since 2022 (Marcus Mariota, Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke).
Falcons Need Kirk Cousins To Bounce Back In Week 2
The Falcons can’t bear much shame in losing to a competitive Pittsburgh team with one of the league’s best defenses, but they’ll need Cousins to rebound on Monday against an even tougher opponent in the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Falcons will try to avoid a disastrous 0-2 start when they visit Jalen Hurts’ and the 1-0 Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field next Monday night, followed by a Sunday night home contest against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
