Shedeur Sanders is quickly trying to familiarize himself with his new work home, but not everybody is a fan of his recent outing.
Sanders wasted little time making an impact in the Cleveland community after being selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
Sanders surprised John Marshall High School students with a visit shortly after arriving in Cleveland.
He spoke to the young kids, answered questions from the students, and outlined his goals personally and professionally as his NFL career begins.
“I just wanted to come out and see y’all,” the young quarterback told the students.
Sanders made it clear off the field that he wants to “bring more hope and positivity” to Cleveland. He believes he can do that by serving as an influence on the city’s youth. This was a great move for Shedeur Sanders, but the posting of his interactions with the kids rubbed one media member the wrong way. Sanders’ classy gesture didn’t sit well with one of the hosts for ESPN Cleveland.
On Thursday, ESPN Radio host Aaron Goldhammer ripped the rookie quarterback for constantly posting everything he does on social media.
“I would have preferred that if he was gonna go talk to a bunch of high school kids, he didn’t post it on social media five seconds after the thing was over,” Goldhammer said of Shedeur Sanders.
“I felt like it was him screaming, ‘See, look how good a person I am. I went to a school, then I worked out. I’m doing all the right things.”
Goldhammer’s co-host, Tony Rizzo, didn’t quite feel the same way.
“Every charity thing they do on Tuesdays, the players’ day off, they post a video of it,” Rizzo said.

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who was just signed to the Cleveland Browns during the NFL Draft last weekend, has a fighting chance to show what he’s got.
With the draft in the rearview, the work begins, and Sanders has his work cut out for him.
Cleveland’s quarterback room features five signal callers, with the fifth-round pick Sanders likely the lowest on the totem pole at the moment.
Deshaun Watson is currently out with an injury, but the front office has basically made it known that they regret trading for him.
He might miss the 2025 season, but Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco figure to be the leaders for the starting job heading into training camp. Both are on one-year deals and might not be back in 2026.
After that, it’s fellow 2025 draft pick Dillon Gabriel. The Browns took the former Oregon quarterback in the third round, leaving Sanders as the last in the room.
