The New Orleans Saints have major issues at the quarterback position, and now they have released one from the roster.
In the wake of making a quarterback addition during the draft, the Saints have released Ben DiNucci.
The 28-year-old joined the Saints in December after Derek Carr got injured. He would not see any playing time down the stretch, and he will not have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot during training camp as a result of today’s move.
To close out the 2024 season, New Orleans used Spencer Rattler as a starter for six games.
DiNucci played collegiately for the James Madison Dukes. The Dallas Cowboys selected him seventh overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
He was with the Cowboys through the 2020 and 2021 seasons. In 2020, he appeared in three games with one start and completed 23 of 43 passes for 219 yards.
New Orleans had Drew Brees for what felt like forever, and things haven’t been the same since.
Now, where do the New Orleans Saints go from here?
Is QB Tyler Shough The Future For The New Orleans Saints?

The New Orleans Saints released veteran quarterback Ben DiNucci on Tuesday morning.
This move comes after the Saints drafted Louisville Cardinals quarterback Tyler Shough in the second round with the 40th overall choice last weekend.
Shough currently joins Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener in the New Orleans quarterback room, with QB Derek Carr on the roster.
Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener do not look like the future of the team.
Shough appears to be the future, as he was the highest-drafted quarterback in New Orleans since Archie Manning was taken with the No. 2 pick in the 1971 draft.
