“Well, they just got scared.”
Joe Rogan has accused the Harris campaign of lying to “cover their a–” after the then-Vice President did not appear on his popular JRE podcast.
Shortly after Donald Trump’s appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience in October, it emerged that Kamara Harris’ team had been in touch with the show about a possible interview.
Trump engaged in a wide-ranging three-hour chat with Rogan that rocketed to over 20 million views on YouTube in just 20 hours.
But after “scheduling did not line up” – according to campaign spokesperson Ian Sams – Harris missed out, which was a decision that many believed was a misstep.
Since turning down the opportunity, the Harris campaign have claimed that Rogan’s team made a series of demands and alleged that they found out Trump’s cameo had happened on the same day.Rogan would later recall how the Harris campaign offered to come to Washington for a shorter interview – believed to be 45 minutes to an hour – which was less than a third of his normal conversations.
The UFC commentator also responded to the contents of a book that disclosed the so-called conditions for an interview on the show, which included no staff in the studio and no topic restrictions.
Now, in the latest JRE episode with Adam Curry, podcast host Rogan has once again touched on the subject.
“It’s just normal political bulls—. They just lie,” he said. “They cover their a–, and they lie. I would have been very happy to have her on, and like I said, the goal was to release both [interviews with the candidates] the same day.”He added: “I’m not going to be antagonistic, I’m not going to be a sh—head, I’m not gonna be… I have no desire to turn this into a viral clip thing. I’m not trying to do that. I never wanted that done to me, so why would I do that to someone else?”
