Former Alabama starting quarterback Jalen Hurts was once No. 1 on the depth chart in a quarterback room that also featured future first-round picks in Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones.
Hurts enrolled at Alabama, where he was the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback for two seasons before playing as the team’s backup as a junior.
In Hurts’ sophomore season at the University of Alabama, the Crismon Tide were in the 2018 National Championship game against the University of Georgia. Hurts struggled in the first half, so Nick Saban benched Hurts at halftime for Tua Tagovailoa.
After transferring to Oklahoma, Hurts was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fast forward to 2025, and now he is a Super Bowl champion and MVP.The University of Alabama X account decided it was a great idea to celebrate Jalen Hurts’ accomplishments.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is engaged to Bryonna “Bry” Rivera Burrows.
The pair were first linked in January 2023 when she joined him on the field to celebrate his team’s NFC Championship win against the San Francisco 49ers.
Prior to their public debut, Hurts kept his romance with Burrows out of the spotlight.
Hurts and Burrows first met at the University of Alabama, where they were both students.
He was on the football team from 2016 through 2018 before transferring to the University of Oklahoma for his senior year.
They kept in contact, and now they have plans to be married.
