Multiple NFL teams are reportedly set to reveal new alternate helmets for the 2025 season.
Last year, the NFL adjusted its helmet rules that allow each of the 32 teams to add a third option if they so desire. 13 teams took up the league on its offer and revealed their alternative helmets.
According to FanDuel’s Zach Cohen, the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers are among the NFL teams that will unveil a third alternate helmet for 2025. Cohen added that he’s working to get confirmation on other teams’ third helmets.
Cohen is indeed reputable. Last March, he reported that the Browns, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions and New York Jets would unveil new uniform sets for 2024. All four teams subsequently did just that.There’s no timeline on when the Browns and Steelers will reveal their alternate helmets, but it’s something to keep an eye on as the official league new year approaches.The 2024 NFL season ended with the Philadelphia Eagles crushing the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl 59, denying Patrick Mahomes and company of the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat. The Eagles will host next season’s NFL Kickoff Game on Sept. 4.
