It wasn’t pretty, and it took extra time, but The U.S. women’s national team advanced to the Olympic semifinals after beating Japan in extra time in the semifinals on Saturday. Trinity Rodman’s superb strike in the first half of extra time was the difference. The Americans had trouble creating over the course of the 120 minutes, but the one special moment proved to be enough.
