Things are not going well for Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins.
Tua didn’t play during Week 18, but his reaction on the sidelines during the game still made headlines.
During the game, standout wide receiver Tyreek Hill wouldn’t play much, as he recorded just two catches for 20 yards in Sunday’s loss to New York.
Just minutes after the Miami Dolphins were eliminated from the NFL playoffs, Hill responded by questioning his own future with the team.
“This is the first time I haven’t been in the playoffs,” he said. “For me, I have to do what’s best for me and my family if that’s here or wherever the case may be. I’m finna open that door for myself. I’m opening the door. I’m out. It was great playing here.”
Something about Tua Tagovailoa’s demeanor seemed to suggest that he may have seen this coming while sitting on the sidelines.Cameras caught Tua not smiling and sitting with dark sunglasses on while the team was down in the fourth quarter.
One social media user asked, “Did anybody else get a weird vibe from Tua today? Glasses on, no smiling, not supporting teammates as much. Does he know?“
Here is how social media responded:
“Maybe he knows Tyreek and McDaniel are gone,” one fan said.
“Dude he was walking around the hotel in sunglasses and a gucci jacket big timing i even made the same comment today. The total disinterest from everyone was palatable,” another fan added.
“If Hill leaves, his career is over,” a third fan added.
“Why wouldn’t he feel odd Bro. This team SUCKS without him. Absolutely NO HEART on offense without him,” one final fan added.
Life Has Been Good For Tua Tagovailoa With Tyreek Hill On The Team
Tua Tagovailoa has enjoyed a lot of success since Tyreek Hill was traded to the Dolphins.
Tagovailoa totaled 3,548 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and a league-best 105.5 passer rating in 2022 in his first season with the dynamic wideout.
Tagovailoa wrapped his fourth year in Miami in 2023 by throwing for 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns, leading the team to an 11-6 record and a second consecutive playoff appearance.
His numbers are not as good this year due to injuries keeping him out of games, but if the team trades away Hill, life could go back to being hell in Miami like it was before he got there.
