Social media is destroying CBS NFL analyst Tony Romo for singing the “Circle of Life” from “The Lion King” in cringeworthy fashion during the Detroit Lions-Chicago Bears Thanksgiving game on Thursday.
Tony Romo and Jim Nantz are on the call for the Lions-Bears contest at Ford Field, the first of three NFL Thanksgiving Thursday games today. The Dallas Cowboys will host the New York Giants in the second game, and the Green Bay Packers will host the Miami Dolphins in the evening contest.
Early in the second quarter, Romo started singing “Circle of Life” out of nowhere. And let’s just say he’d be better off sticking to, well, NFL analysis.
Fans wasted no time teeing off on Tony Romo for this cringeworthy singing performance.
“Tony Romo shuuuuuut up,” one fan said.
“Romo did not just sing circle of life my zod,” remarked another.
“Tony Romo just tried to sing the Lion King song. It was not pretty,” another said.
“Tony Romo singing,” another fan wrote with a hilarious Mike Tomlin GIF.
“Jim Nantz saying that kids being held up like lions from The Lion King is a beautiful moment and sounding like he was tearing up only for Tony Romo to try and sing Circle of Life might be a top least favourite NFL moment of all time. Happy Thanksgiving, y’all,” wrote another.
“Ayo!!! somebody tell Tony Romo to never do that again. Who said singin that Lion King song was okay??,” another fan said.
“Tony Romo be doing too much bro lol,” a fan commented.
“Romo please don’t ever sing again on air…..” one fan said.
Never A Dull Moment With Tony Romo
Love or hate Tony Romo, the man certainly isn’t boring in the booth. He brings a lot more personality and humor than most of his peers, and there’s a reason CBS has handed him two lucrative contracts.
