NFL Fans Are Convinced That Bill Belichick & Aaron Rodgers Are About To Join Forces

Social media detectives believe that future Hall of Famers Bill Belichick and Aaron Rodgers are bound to join forces with an NFC team in 2025.

The 72-year-old Belichick figures to be one of the most sought-after coaches for the 2025 hiring cycle. As for Aaron Rodgers, multiple reports have indicated that he and the Jets prefer to split.

This includes a report from NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, who recently wrote, “my understanding is that Rodgers still wants to play in 2025, just not for the New York Jets.”

Belichick was surprisingly passed over in the 2024 NFL head coach hiring cycle, with only the Atlanta Falcons granting him an interview. Atlanta wound up hiring former Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris for the role.

Fans on social media suggest one intriguing landing spot for Aaron Rodgers and Bill Belichick: The latter’s old team in the New York Giants:Belichick was on the Giants’ coaching staff from 1979 to 1990, spending the last six years as their defensive coordinator. His defensive IQ helped the Giants to Super Bowl champions in the 1986 and 1990 seasons.

“I can already hear Bill saying “Run it again 12, that was horrible” during practice,” tweeted one fan.

“Rodgers needs Belichick Not the other way around,” another fan opined.

“Belichick and Rodgers have lowkey always wanted to work together… NY GIANTS 2025????,” a fan speculation.

“Bill Belichick will be head coach of the Giants next season and could easily ask Aaron Rodgers to be his starting QB. The giants are massively underperforming,” wrote another.

“Let me be the first….. Belichick AND Aaron Rodgers to the Giants,” one X user wrote.

“Now this is something I’d actually really wanna see,” a fan wrote.

“could be fun,” wrote another.

“Here’s what the @Giants should do: Hire Bill Belichick and sign Aaron Rodgers. Draft a QB to learn under Rodgers for a year (maybe two). Sets them up for success now and in the future. Thoughts?,” another suggested.

Belichick was on the Giants’ coaching staff from 1979 to 1990, spending the last six years as their defensive coordinator. His defensive IQ helped the Giants to Super Bowl champions in the 1986 and 1990 seasons.

In his “A Football Life” documentary, there was a clip of an emotional Belichick expressing his gratitude for the Giants organization when he returned to Giants Stadium as head coach of the Patriots. Surely, Big Blue would be high on his wish list if they gave him a call?

Don’t Be Surprised If Giants Pursue Aaron Rodgers

The Giants released Daniel Jones last week after benching him in favor of the seldom-used Tommy DeVito. They need a new starting QB, but the 2025 NFL Draft class is considered weak.

So don’t be surprised if GM Joe Schoen decides to pursue Rodgers, even as a bridge quarterback. Nobody really knows if A-Rod would want to play for the Giants, but all Big Blue can do is pursue it and hope for the best.
