Prayers up for Chris Olave.
The New Orleans Saints star wide receiver tried to catch a pass in the team’s game against the Carolina Panthers and got the worst of it when he got hit.
Players took a knee surrounding the receiver in what looks to be a serious situation.
A cart would eventually come out and take him off the field.
Olave has suffered at least three documented concussions in his NFL career.
Olave had one catch for 13 yards before his injury.
New Orleans Saints Wide Receiver Chris Olave Considered Wearing Guardian Cap
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was seriously considering wearing a Guardian Cap in this weekend’s game against the Carolina Panthers after sustaining a concussion in Week 6.
It turns out that he should’ve done so.
“I’m still considering it. I was considering last game, ended up going with the regular helmet,” Olave said before Sunday’s game.
A Guardian Cap is a type of padding worn over the helmet with the intention of reducing the risk of concussions and head injuries.
As we saw, just minutes into the Saints game, Chris Olave would be knocked unconscious.
Olave has missed two games in his NFL career because of concussions, as he sustained a concussion in his rookie season in 2022 and missed the following contest.
He was ruled out of a Week 12 game against the Atlanta Falcons last year with a concussion.
