Social media had all types of theories after a video of Aaron Rodgers sniffing something out of a bottle went into circulation online.
The New York Jets quarterback has again come under fire for his ineffectiveness despite the many changes that have been made to accommodate him, having allowed the team to drop to 2-5 with a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night.
The Jets have made some big moves recently, firing Robert Saleh, demoting Nathaniel Hackett, and trading for Davante Adams. However, it was the same old story in Pittsburgh as they suffered a 37-15 loss that has all but wiped out their playoff hopes.
At one point, Rodgers was caught on camera sniffing something out of a bottle, though he could have been trying to fit it through his facemask.
Check him out below and decide for yourself.
“Bottle of smelling salts,” a fan theorized.
“his own ball sweat,” another suggested.
“Ivermectin probably,” said a third.
“Mixture of percs and smelling salts,” a fourth noted.
“Based on how he’s playing he needs to up the dosage because it didn’t help 🤣,” someone observed.
“Sniffing the scent of the Phlukatta flower help break down the ions that 5G signals emit,” a comment read.
“I think the bottle doesn’t fit. It’s still funny though,” a fan claimed.
Aaron Rodgers Takes Responsibility
Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers has taken responsibility for Sunday’s loss. He also claimed that the team’s energy evaporated in the second half and admitted that he needs to do a better job of keeping spirits high.
He would blame Garrett Wilson’s drop, which led to an interception, for the change in momentum.
“The play right before halftime changed the entire energy,” he told reporters.
“We have to somehow keep the belief in the locker room and start a run,” he added.
At 2-5, the Jets no longer have much margin for error. But they could indeed string some wins together as long as they don’t lose any of their key players to injury.
