The Vanderbilt Commodores cleverly trolled former Alabama head coach Nick Saban after they shocked the No. 1 ranked Crimson Tide 40-35 at FirstBank Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Nick Saban’s old team entered this week as the top-ranked team with a perfect 4-0 record, coming off a statement 41-34 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs. But after Saturday’s loss to Vanderbilt, the Crimson Tide are sure to fall in the AP top 25 rankings.
During his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” back on Sept. 20, Saban took a shot at Vanderbilt by claiming that the Crimson Tide supporters outnumbered the Commodores’ fans when his team traveled to Nashville:
“But the only place you’re going to play in the SEC that’s not hard to play, Vanderbilt. When you play at Vanderbilt, you have more fans there than they have, and that’s no disrespect to them, it’s the truth. When we played in Nashville, we had more fans, Alabama fans, than what they had Vanderbilt fans.”
