Kim Kardashian has 'paid visit' to Menendez brothers in prison along with Monsters actor Cooper Koch

The Menendez brothers are the latest subjects in Ryan Murphy’s Monster series on Netflix

Kim Kardashian has ‘paid a visit’ to see the Menendez brothers in prison, according to reports.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story landed on the streaming site on Thursday (19 September) and follows the high profile 1989 case of the brothers convicted of murdering their parents.

The men fatally shot José and Mary Louise Menéndez at their Beverly Hills home, with this new series covering the events surrounding their deaths and the infamous court case.

Erik and Lyle cited years of alleged sexual, emotional and physical abuse behind the reasoning of the killing, but it was argued by prosecutors that they only did it to get a share of the family’s fortune.

A recent statement from Erik slammed the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy.

“I believed we had moved beyond the lies and ruinous character portrayals of Lyle, creating a caricature of Lyle rooted in horrible and blatant lies rampant in the show,” he said.

“I can only believe they were done so on purpose. It is with a heavy heart that I say, I believe Ryan Murphy cannot be this naive and inaccurate about the facts of our lives so as to do this without bad intent.”

Kim recently worked with Murphy on American Horror Story: Delicate, playing Siobhan in the show’s latest series.

Alongside her sister Khloe, mum Kris Jenner and film producer Scott Budnick she was also joined by actor Cooper Koch from Monsters.

He plays Erik Menendez from Netflix’s latest biopic series, with viewers calling it the ‘perfect casting’.

But her reported visit, which was first reported by TMZ, to the Richard J. Donovan Correctional facility yesterday (21 September) was supposedly unrelated to that as it was part of her work in prison reform.

With family members and Koch in tow, she was reported to have been doing a talk with a large group of inmates which is said to have included Erik and Lyle, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

It’s also reported a topic of discussion at Kim’s talk was Greenspace which is an initiative led by Lyle and Erik, Deadline reports, which focuses on beautifying up prison yards as a way of helping rehabilitation of inmates.

Earlier this year, Kim sat down to chat with another Monsters actor Chloë Sevigny, who plays Kitty Menendez, for Variety’s Actors on Actors.

The Kardashian sister explained how she grew up ‘right down the street from the house that all happened in’.

“I remember hearing about that case. But my dad drove me by the house and told me the story. And he had been in the house. Since the boys are still alive, if they tried to connect with you, would you be open to it?” she asked.“I think it’s a slippery slope, and I think the legal aspects are really dangerous as well.” Sevigny said. “I’ve done a lot of true crime, and, honestly, I find it a little mentally exhausting just thinking about those responsibilities to the victims, to even the killers and their family members.”
