Carolina Panthers Shock The NFL By Dealing QB Bryce Young To AFC Contender In Blockbuster Trade Proposal

It took just two games for Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales to bench 2023 first-overall pick Bryce Young, who lost the starting quarterback job to Andy Dalton after a woeful Week 2 outing.

One week after his Panther were crushed 47-10 by the New Orleans Saints on the road in Week 1, Bryce Young fared even worse in the team’s home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. The 23-year-old had just 18 completions for 84 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in a 26-23 defeat.

Canales and first-year GM Dan Morgan weren’t here when the Panthers sold the farm to the Chicago Bears in 2023 so that they could move up and select Young first overall.

Even if Dalton doesn’t play any better than young, Carolina will at least be in a good spot to take a top QB prospect like Georgia’s Carson Beck, Texas’ Quinn Ewers or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft.One week after his Panther were crushed 47-10 by the New Orleans Saints on the road in Week 1, Bryce Young fared even worse in the team’s home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. So the Panthers should gauge the market for Bryce Young and see if they can get anything of value for the former Alabama star. And if there’s one team that should be motivated to land Young, it’s the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins’ season is already on thin ice after losing star Tua Tagovailoa with a concussion. Tagovailoa was placed on the injured reserve after suffering an injury in Week 2, meaning he has to miss at least four games.

Miami has too much talent on both sides of the ball to punt on the season. Backup Skylar Thompson hasn’t done anything to show that he can potentially save Miami’s season with Tagovailoa out, which is why Bryce Young should be on GM Chris Grier’s wish list.

What Dolphins Should Offer Panthers For Bryce Young

Though he was a first-round pick 17 months ago, Young’s play to begin his career means Carolina wouldn’t get much in a trade. A fair offer on Miami’s end would be 2025 fourth and 2026 third-round draft picks (the Eagles own Miami’s 2025 third-rounder) for Bryce Young.

The worst case for Miami? They have a former No. 1 pick to back up an injury-prone Tagovailoa. The best case? Young plays well enough in Tagovailoa’s absence and thus increases his trade value. That would allow Miami to recoup some of the lost trade picks for Young.
