Let’s be honest, we’ve all looked through someone’s crappy telescope and pretended to be amazed at a close-up of an empty sky.
Unless you’ve got the best spot and a decent bit of kit, it’s often you end up getting a view of well, not much. But this man was left absolutely mind-blown when he got to look through a brand new telescope and take a picture of what he found up in space.
TikTok creator Nick Jackson had the opportunity to take the Celestron Origin Telescope out for a spin and really won the big time when he took it out in ‘the middle of the night’.

Worth nearly $4,000 (£3049), the very fancy tech is an ‘all-in-one home observatory’ capturing images with built-in AI algorithms, StarSense technology and a whole load of advanced features.
So, it’s fair to say Jackson’s chances of seeing something impressive were pretty high but it seems he was still taken aback by the outcome.
“I absolutely have to show you what I’m looking at right now,” he says.
The camera then flips to a live feed of the telescope’s image as he carries on: “Dude! We are looking at this through the freaking telescope right now.”
Barely able to get his words out because he’s in such amazement, it turns out Jackson has managed to capture the Andromeda Galaxy.

“Do you see this? The bands! This is image stacking right now, we’re looking at it live through the telescope. This is crazy.”
And it’s fair to say the images being picked up really are impressive as you can see the galaxy with amazing clarity.
Jackson explains he though it would be ‘so fun’ to point it at the Andromeda Galaxy ‘just to be able to see if we would see it’ but certainly wasn’t expecting this result.
“Do you see this right now?!” he continues.
The TikToker then left the telescope on for about half an hour to allow the image to fully form and the result really is incredible.
Reacting to the amazing photo of the nearest major galaxy to the MilkyWay, a whole 2.537 million light-years away from Earth, users said it is ‘spectacular’.
Others said it is ‘insane’ as it’s an ‘asbolutely beautiful’ view.
“Wow freaking awesome!” another said, as one put: “Wow!! What an incredible capture good for you, must be an amazing feeling to look at that from your eyes.”
And another wrote: “To think, or even comprehend, that you’re looking at a live another galaxy in detail is just crazy!”
