Robert Griffin III Appears To Throw Shade At ESPN With Brash Message After Being Handed His Marching Orders

Robert Griffin II was shockingly terminated by ESPN this week, with the 2024 NFL season just around the corner.

The Athletic, which broke the news on the surprising decision on Thursday, reported that the firing was money-related, given that the network is nearing the close of its fiscal year.

Popular female sportscaster Sam Ponder joined RGIII on his way out.

Griffin, a former NFL quarterback, was a very familiar face, having made regular appearances on some of the most-watched ESPN shows, including ‘Monday Night Countdown’ and ‘Get Up.’

The 33-year-old has remained active on social media since his firing, joking about getting booted on his day off shortly after the news dropped. He was back this weekend, taking to X/Twitter to post a message reading, “Nothing in this world is worth selling your soul for.”
