REPORT: 4 Top NFL Teams Emerge As Front-Runners To Land Green Bay Packers Superstar In Blockbuster Trade

Four top NFL teams could reportedly target Green Bay Packers superstar cornerback Jaire Alexander in a blockbuster trade.

Following another injury-riddled season that saw him play just 10 games, Alexander strongly indicated that he wouldn’t return to the Packers in 2025. Alexander declined to speak to reporters after their Wild Card Round loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and said he had nothing good to say, per Kelly Hallinan of NBC 26.

Many wondered if Jaire Alexander would be dealt during the 2025 NFL Draft, but the 28-year-old remains a member of the Packers for now. According to a new report, four playoff contenders could inquire about Alexander’s availability if he hits the trade block.

In his post-NFL Draft mailbag, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer answered a fan’s question about which clubs could have interest in Jaire Alexander. Breer listed the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers as possible candidates:

“Rob, I could throw the San Francisco 49ers, Rams, Steelers and Chiefs out there as teams that entered the draft with needs at the position, and didn’t take corners in the first two rounds of the draft.

The question, to me, comes down to money. He’s due $17.5 million this year. And, because of his recent injury history, that’s shown to be a bit rich for interested teams. Alexander, meanwhile, would rather be cut so he can pick his destination, and he might not be willing to help with a contract adjustment to facilitate a trade.”

Interestingly, Breer thinks “the most likely scenario is that” Alexander returns to the Packers on a restructured deal with incentives. The 2018 first-round pick has spent his entire career in Green Bay.

The Rams, Steelers and Chiefs all qualified for the playoffs last season. The 49ers finished 6-11 in a season marred by injuries, but they reached three straight NFC Championship Games before that and could certainly use a player like Jaire Alexander after losing top corner Charvarius Ward and All-Pro safety Talanoa Hufanga in free agency.

Jaire Alexander Is A Top-Five Corner When Healthy

When he’s healthy, the two-time Pro Bowler and two-time Second-team All-Pro is in the conversation for the game’s best cornerback. Unfortuntely, Alexander has been limited to 34 total games over the last four years with various injuries.

If injuries weren’t a problem, Alexander wouldn’t be in trade rumors whatsoever. But alas, the Packers have a difficult decision to make for a player who’s awfully expensive but certainly valuable when healthy.
