T.J. Miller Rules Out Future Projects with Ryan Reynolds, Nicknamed ‘Crying Ryan’

The recent blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine, has been a major hit, featuring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in their first Marvel Cinematic Universe roles as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively.

Despite the success, not everyone from the past Deadpool series returned for this film, notably T.J. Miller, who cited past tensions with Reynolds.

Miller, absent from the latest film likely due to previous legal troubles and allegations, shared that Reynolds once made remarks on the Deadpool set that were unsettling.

He recounted an incident where Reynolds commented on his role, saying, ‘You know what’s great about you Weasel, you’re not the star but you do just enough exposition that it’s funny and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.’ Miller felt this was odd and indicative of Reynolds’ discomfort with others receiving attention.

After this exchange, the atmosphere on set felt strange to Miller, who confirmed this with a colleague who agreed that Reynolds’ behavior was indeed bizarre. This experience led Miller to decide against working with Reynolds again.

He also touched on Reynolds’ apparent insecurity, suggesting that Reynolds does not handle others getting laughs well, which might be why he was known as ‘Crying Ryan’ among peers.

Despite these claims, the film has garnered immense popularity, becoming a favorite to the extent that fans are getting tattoos dedicated to it. Miller expressed appreciation for the film’s impact but reiterated his stance of not wanting to collaborate with Reynolds in the future due to the past discomfort and alleged incidents on set.
