Aaron Rodgers’ Next NFL Team Set After Russell Wilson Signed $21 Million Contract With The Giants

Russell Wilson’s move to the New York Giants has sent shockwaves through the NFL, leaving Aaron Rodgers as the last major quarterback still on the market.

The 36-year-old Wilson signed a one-year deal worth up to $21 million with the Giants on Tuesday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, eliminating one of the primary landing spots for Rodgers.

Now, all eyes turn to the 41-year-old four-time MVP, who remains undecided on his next move. With Wilson off the board, the Pittsburgh Steelers have emerged as the most serious suitor, setting up what appears to be an inevitable conclusion to Rodgers’ free agency saga.

The Steelers have been actively searching for a franchise quarterback after parting ways with Justin Fields and Wilson following a disappointing end to their 2024 season. With only Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson currently on their roster, the team is in desperate need of a proven leader under center.

Rodgers met with Pittsburgh’s front office last week in a marathon six-hour meeting but left without a contract. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, teams believe Rodgers has yet to decide. However, with the Giants out of the running and the Minnesota Vikings showing no interest, the Steelers remain his most logical destination.
