REPORT: Former Green Bay Packers Star Running Back Charged In Largest Dog-Fighting Raid With Nearly 200 Pit Bulls

Former NFL player LeShon Eugene Johnson is in some serious trouble once again.

The Haskell-native is facing dog fighting related charges again for the second time in his life. He has been charged in federal court for operating a “large-scale” dog fighting and trafficking operation in Broken Arrow.

The U.S. Department of Justice said Leshon Eugene Johnson appeared in court last week and was charged with possession of 190 pit bull dogs used for an “animal fighting venture and for selling, transporting, and delivering a dog for use in an animal fighting venture.”

He was indicted by a grand jury in the Eastern District of Oklahoma for violations of dog fighting prohibitions of the federal Animal Welfare Act.

The DOJ said federal authorities seized 190 dogs from Johnson in October 2024 as this is believed to be the most dogs ever seized from a single person in a federal dog fighting case.Johnson stands accused of running a dog fighting operation called “Mal Kant Kennels” in Broken Arrow and Haskell.
