Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders has fans buzzing on social media after an enticing social media hint that may have foreshadowed his NFL landing spot.
Shedeur Sanders and Miami’s Cam Ward are the consensus two best quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Both have been floated as strong candidates to go first overall to the Tennessee Titans, though the Cleveland Browns (No. 2 pick) and New York Giants (No. 3 pick) could also take a QB if the Titans pass on both.
On his Instagram story, Sanders posted a photo of him hanging out with fellow quarterback Geno Smith, whom the Las Vegas Raiders recently acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks:The Raiders, who hold the No. 6 pick, have been widely mentioned as the likeliest landing spot for Shedeur Sanders. And with Smith entering a contract season at the age of 35, it’s unlikely that the Raiders view him as a long-term option behind center.
Smith was the Seahawks’ starting quarterback under Carroll in 2022 and 2023, earning back-to-back Pro Bowl nods with 50 touchdown passes over that period.
Many expect the Raiders to make some big moves under first-year head coach Pete Carroll and new GM John Spytek. This year marks Tom Brady’s first offseason as a Raiders minority owner, too, and nothing would scream “blockbuster” like Vegas landing Sanders.
Other Teams That Could Target Shedeur Sanders At The Draft

Aside from the Titans, Browns, Giants and Raiders, the New York Jets (No. 7 pick) are a team to watch in the Shedeur Sanders sweepstakes. They did sign Justin Fields to a two-year deal, yes, but the Jets could target a QB to learn behind the 2021 first-round pick for a year or two before making the transition.
The New Orleans Saints need to move on from Derek Carr at some point, so they may want Sanders if he’s there at No. 9. And would anyone really be surprised if Jerry Jones targeted Sanders if he was available at 12? This guy wanted to take Johnny Manziel in 2014 when he still had Tony Romo, after all.
