Most of the top 2025 NFL free agents have found new homes, but there are surprisingly three big-named wide receivers still available in Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper.
It’s especially surprising that Stefon Diggs remains a free agent. He may be 31 years of age and coming off a torn ACL that abruptly ended his one-year stint with the Houston Texans, but this is a player with all-world production since the start of the decade (5,868 receiving yards and 40 touchdowns).
At any rate, it won’t be long until Diggs, Cooper (31 in July) and Allen (33 in April) find new homes. Consistent 1,000-yard receivers don’t grow on trees, and all three should be available at reasonable prices given their respective ages.
Priyanshu Choudhary of Pro Football Network listed four possible landing spots for the four-time Pro Bowler. One of those teams was the defending AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs, who saw plenty of Stefon Diggs during his four years with the Buffalo Bills:
“The number of memes this move would generate would be off the charts. But the Chiefs desperately need reliable wide receivers, and Diggs might be their most affordable option.
Last year, not a single Kansas City wide receiver topped 700 yards — something Diggs has done every season except for his injury-shortened 2024 campaign. With two young receivers in Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy leading the way, the Chiefs could use Diggs’ experience.
However, with the history between Diggs and the Chiefs, he might not be open to the idea of joining Kansas City. But if a deal can be worked out, it would instantly make the Chiefs’ offense even more dangerous.”
Since trading Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins in 2020, the Chiefs have lacked a true No. 1 receiver. Though they have two Super Bowl titles and three AFC Championship banners since the Hill trade, the lack of a game-changing receiver was evident in their ugly Super Bowl 59 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Chiefs Should Definitely Target Stefon Diggs

Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown and tight end Travis Kelce are a nice pass-catching group for Patrick Mahomes to work with. But why not add Diggs, especially at a reasonable price, to give Mahomes a five-headed receiving monster?
Diggs should be motivated to play for a contender at this phase of his career, and nobody knows how to win better than the Chiefs in the Patrick Mahomes era.
