Former Tennessee Titans superstar running back Eddie George has landed a new head coaching position ahead of the 2025 NCAA football season.
According to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Eddie George is leaving the Tennessee State Tigers to become the new head coach of the Bowling Green Falcons. The four-time Pro Bowler coached the Tigers from 2021 to 2024, garnering a 24-22 record.
George led Tennessee State to a Big South–OVC championship in 2004 and took home Big South–OVC Coach of the Year honors. After starting out his coaching tenure with consecutive losing seasons, George led the Tigers to 6-5 and 9-4 finishes in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Bowling Green’s coaching position opened up when scot Loeffler, who held the job since 2019, left last month to take the Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterbacks coach gig. The Falcons went 27-41 under Loeffler, finishing 7-6 in each of his final two years at the helm.
