New York Police Detective Taking Heat For Dancing On A Pole While Wearing Inappropriate Outfit In Scandalous Rap Video

A New York Police Officer is taking heat after appearing in a rap video in which she’s seen wearing very little clothing while shaking her butt and dancing on a pole at a strip club. The cop, Melissa Mercado, is a detective in the special victims unit and has seven years of experience.

According to Collin Rugg, who is among those to have shared the video, she’s working undercover, though he’s probably joking…

Mercado is said to be on a $150,000-a-year salary.

The video, shown below, was first published by WorldStar Hip-Hop. It’s for a song called “Doin’ That” by rapper S-Quire, whose real name is Pavian Winfield.

“Wanna tell you ’bout a girl named Keisha,” he’s heard saying. “A** thick. Just want to smash it quick.

“I like the way she’s doing that, the way she’s sliding up the pole.”“I have no words,” one of Melissa Mercado’s coworkers was quoted as saying.

Melissa Mercado Has The Backing Of The Police Union

The officer has also been taking plenty of heat online, but the union is backing her. They claim that her off-duty activities do not affect her ability to do her job and that she isn’t wearing anything representative of the NYPD.

“What she’s doing really has nothing to do with her as an employee, as an NYC detective,” a union source told the New York Post. “She’s not wearing NYPD paraphernalia. Nothing in the video says she’s a detective.

“If she is performing for money, if she has a side gig, the job would want to know about that,” the source added. “The member would be obligated to file an off-duty employment application. I would say nothing she does in the video is the department’s business.”

Mercado has not addressed the viral video herself, but the aforementioned outlet has confirmed that it’s her.
