Snoop Dogg, who holds several titles, including that of a rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer, hosted the 14th annual NFL Honors on February 6 at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans.
Since its debut in 2012, the event has been the stage for unveiling major awards, including The Associated Press’ yearly recognitions, the esteemed Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award presented by Nationwide, and the announcement of the latest Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees during Super Bowl week.

Hence, Snoop Dogg, a dominant figure in entertainment for nearly three decades and widely recognized for his humor, was selected as a host to bring his expertise and signature style to the NFL Honors. However, some viewers struggled to enjoy the event with him as the host.
One person bluntly stated, “Snoop Dog as a host was such a hard watch.” Another admitted they didn’t find him entertaining, “I’m not gone lie Snoop not funny at all 🫣 [sic].”

Another viewer was baffled by the decision to have him lead the event, commenting, “Why in the world would they have Snoop Dog host! Worst ever! Rude mean and not funny ..Hope this fires Mahomes up even more.”
Frustration over the show continued as someone called out the NFL directly, “@NFL @NFLonFOX I tried, I tried. I just tried to watch NFL Honors and all I saw was Snoop Dog and Jelly Roll doing some comedy bit. Come on NFL, this is as insulting as the childish games supposed to replace a real Pro Bowl.”
One fan found the event itself odd and noted the awkward dynamic, “NFL Honors is such a weird award show. You have Snoop hosting, which is not the best choice. Having him make jokes, which about half are good, but then you have an audience of NFL people who don’t seem to wanna laugh at any jokes, even the good ones.”
Despite the criticism, some couldn’t help but notice Snoop Dogg’s omnipresence, joking, “Of course Snoop Dog is on TV again 😂 bro is everywhere.”
Some of the lighthearted roasting from Snoop Dogg at the event was aimed at legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick, 72, and his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson,
The rapper indirectly aimed at the couple’s 48-year age gap during his monologue. “I’ve been a football fan for a long, long time. I mean, I remember back when the Cowboys was good. I remember back when the Chiefs was bad. And I remember, what was it… Bill Belichick’s girlfriend wasn’t even born yet,” he quipped.
As the camera cut to Belichick and Hudson, Hudson appeared momentarily surprised before laughing, while Belichick responded with a subtle grin. The joke drew laughter from the audience and quickly gained traction online.
One person declared that the rapper had resorted to a brutal punchline, “Snoop Dogg just buried Bill Belichick so bad, man, I feel bad lowkey.” Another viewer found the moment amusing, noting, “Snoop did Bill dirty lol.” Finally, another user joked, “Snoop just killed Bill Belichick 😭.”
Snoop Dogg has been busy in 2025, making appearances and playing significant roles at high-profile events. The rapper, who had previously been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, took the stage at the Crypto Ball, a pre-inauguration event celebrating Trump’s return to office in January 2025.
The rapper energized the crowd with a mix of classic hits, including Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” and Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds (Don’t Worry About a Thing),” delivering a message of positivity and unity. He also performed his own chart-toppers, such as “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”
