BREAKING: Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson Is Officially Done

Russell Wilson’s tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers appears to be up after just one up-and-down year.

The Steelers signed Wilson to a one-year contract last year following his departure from the Denver Broncos, who took on $85 million in dead money after releasing him. But after Pittsburgh’s ugly late-season collapse and humiliating Wild Card Round loss to the Baltimore Ravens, it sounds like Wilson will be playing elsewhere in 2025.

Speaking on “Radio Row” at Super Bowl week in New Orleans, Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer reported that the Steelers don’t plan to bring back Russell Wilson. Glazer also shut down the idea of Wilson joining former head coach Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders.

“That ain’t gonna happen (Wilson to Las Vegas),” Glazer said. “I don’t think that’s going to happen, either (a return to Pittsburgh). I think you’ll see a new start for Russell.”

Russell Wilson had Pittsburgh sitting pretty at 10-3 following a Week 14 home win against the Cleveland Browns. But the Steelers dropped their final four regular-season games, three of which were decided by double-digit points. The late-season collapse allowed Lamar Jackson and the Ravens to snag the AFC North en route to a dominant 28-14 win over Pittsburgh in the Wild Card Round. Wilson and company were held to under 20 points over the final five games of 2024.
