Travis Kelce is getting set to play in yet another Super Bowl.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his squad will play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.
Kelce’s full attention will be on preparing for the Chiefs’ clash with the Eagles, but his GPA is taking center stage this week.
Before Kelce rose to the top of the charts as a pass-catching beast with Kansas City, he was a lightly recruited Cleveland Heights, Ohio, quarterback.
He got on the Cincinnati squad but squandered his opportunity after failing a drug test and being kicked off the team.
Cincinnati’s then-head coach, Butch Jones, took a chance on him again and had one condition for him: he had to maintain a 3.0 GPA.
The future Hall of Fame tight end went on to secure a 3.2.
Travis Kelce has come a long way. Coming out of high school, he was a 2-star recruit. He was ranked as the 85th best TE in his class and the 81st best player in Ohio.
The Chiefs selected Kelce in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft, which came after four other tight ends were taken before him.
Today, he is arguably one of the greatest tight ends of all-time.
Could Travis Kelce Retire?
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce might hang it up for good.
There are no confirmed reports that Kelce will retire after Super Bowl LIX, but there have been rumors that he might do so should the Chiefs win it all.
