REPORT: NFC Team Predicted To Pull Off Blockbuster Trade For New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr

One of the New Orleans Saints’ NFC Rivals may reportedly consider a blockbuster trade for veteran quarterback Derek Carr.

The soon-to-be 34-year-old Derek Carr has two years left on the $150 million deal he signed with New Orleans in 2023 free agency. Injuries and inconsistent production have hampered Carr’s tenure in the Big Easy, as he’s just 14-13-0 with 40 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 27 games.

With a rebuild long overdue in New Orleans, GM Mickey Loomis would probably love to get out of Carr’s contract and start over at quarterback. It’s clear that the ex-Las Vegas Raider isn’t capable of taking this team back to the playoffs, at least as currently constructed.

According to a report from ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, the quarterback-needy New York Giants could explore a possible trade for Derek Carr in the offseason:

“The trade avenue could also be an option. The future of Derek Carr in New Orleans is one that could come into question. Nothing should be ruled out.”
