HBO “Hard Knocks” cameras caught the epic post-game interaction between Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen after Sunday’s Divisional Round contest at Highmark Stadium.
Allen’s Bills narrowly held on for a tight 27-25 victory in the snowy Orchard Park conditions, punching their ticket to the AFC Championship Game for the first time since 2020. The Bills will face their playoff Kryptonite in Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium.
The Bills barely squeaked past the Ravens thanks largely to several Baltimore miscues. Lamar Jackson turned the ball over twice, and tight end Mark Andrews lost a fumble in the fourth quarter before dropping a game-tying two-point conversion with 1:33 left.
Despite the devastating loss, Jackson brought nothing but smiles, love and a strong word of encouragement when they met on the field after the game.
“Good game bro,” Jackson said. “You already know that. Keep doing your thing baby, Go get some man! Get some.”Allen called Jackson “a stud” and told him, “I love you.”
Both the Ravens and Bills have dealt with plenty of crushing defeats during the Chiefs’ dynastic run. One of them had to go home early once again on Sunday, and it happened to be Jackson’s Ravens.
Lamar Jackson & Ravens Face A Long Offseason
The Ravens took a big step forward a year ago by reaching their first AFC Championship Game in the Lamar Jackson era, only to fall 17-10 to the Chiefs at home in a defensive slugfest.
The addition of Derrick Henry, coupled with the best passing performance of Jackson’s career, took the Baltimore offense to another level. And they still couldn’t get back to the AFC title game.
Indeed, a long offseason lies ahead in Baltimore.
