Standing in front of former President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Carrie Underwood sang “America the Beautiful” at Donald J. Trump’s inauguration.
Underwood reportedly threw a “hissy fit” after performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration ball, but new reports state that her behavior started well before she took the stage.
The American Idol judge reportedly had a list of demands before she hit the stage.
The Daily Mail reports that Carrie Underwood wanted a huge entourage and a handmade designer dress.
‘Carrie was the inauguration day diva,’ an insider told DailyMail.com. ‘She’d been telling anyone who wanted to listen that Trump called her personally to ask her to perform.‘She hired an army of security, was requesting a handmade designer dress for the performance, and demanded she be allowed a team of 20.‘She of course demanded tickets for her family and friends on top of that as well.’
Underwood caught major backlash for even agreeing to sing at the bash. Many critics declared that she was canceled and called out her “gross” and “disappointing” decision to “support” Trump.
Underwood did not upload any post-event photos or commentary on social media, which speaks volumes after her decision to perform for Donald Trump.
It remains to be seen if her performing will hurt her professionally going forward.
Carrie Underwood Had a Heated Reaction Backstage Following Her Inauguration Performance
Country star Carrie Underwood was not happy after her inauguration performance.
After the inauguration was moved inside the U.S. Capitol Building due to cold weather, the event experienced technical difficulties that delayed her performance.
Unfortunately for her, the band meant to accompany Underwood did not play, pushing her to sing a cappella.
Underwood was reportedly not thrilled with how her rendition went down, according to the Daily Mail.
She allegedly felt that she was not “afforded the same level of respect” as other singers have in the past.
“Carrie was dissatisfied with her performance at the event, primarily due to the limited space she was given, which left her feeling cramped and uncomfortable,” a source revealed.
